Tecma Associates, Inc. served as the prime consultant providing Phase III Construction Engineering Services for this $5 million IDOT project, completed in 2024. The project involved the full replacement of the Shepley Road bridge over I-80, enhancing structural integrity and improving safety for motorists.
The work included the installation of protective shielding to ensure safety during construction, pavement reconstruction, new shoulder construction, and guardrail replacement. Detour routes were established and actively maintained along the roadway east and west of the structure to minimize traffic disruptions.
In addition to the core improvements, Tecma oversaw all incidental and collateral work necessary to complete the project in accordance with IDOT specifications and safety standards.
